In the latter 1960s, I got to know LJK quite well, mostly by phone, because he somehow got wind of me wanting to put the 11,000 RPM Honda S800 Overhead Cam engine in top of a Mini gear box, and I had been asking around about anyone being able to weld a "tail" on the S800's crank.
Pointing out the possibility that a detached flywheel could shatter the flywheel housing, saw through the engine bay and head for a gentleman's prized possessions, he insisted that the crank should be cut from a billet.
He kept telling me he had connections that would machine one, if he could write the project up, but unfortunately, before he found someone, we fell out when I criticised the Jewish treatment of the Palestinians.
