Are you fitting that thrust plate the right way round? Are those witness marks from the release bearing? If so, I think you have the thrust plate fitted backwards.

Imack, one of the first things I checked and it’s in the right way asking around and comparing online - dome facing away from engine - I had the others first time I did this 3 years ago - guess what - clutch would not engage so I know that pain all to well. Still scratching my head about the markings though??
Here’s the original 4 years ago - no issues just wanted to swap out to an MED

Yeah, dome away from the engine. It must just be the way the photo looks to my eyes that makes it look back to front.

Just to conclude on other comments and great feedback thx all as usual:
- removed c- washer
- checked float as I actually did set that initially
- primary gear turns with no impediments
- primary gear has slight back and forth movement (float)
- concluded it’s not the clutch or the primary and travel up the taper seems normal
- no damage or marks on pressure plate, clutch, primary gear cylinder, clutch etc
Fingers crossed it’s the plunger/arm

To follow up on my situation, I have checked the plunger, and the hole dimension is the same as the old plunger. There is a little difference in the travel, but the end stop will limit this travel anyway and I am thinking it is not causing my issue. I found that the ball on the end of my Verto Clutch arm has worn, the diameter is in the direction of actuation 1 mm less than the width of the ball. Would this be the cause of any issues?
I am ordering a new clutch arm and master cylinder to have completely restored the clutch system. Then I will re-assemble and hope it is then working.
If anyone else had the similar issue, please share your experience. Thanks :)
