I was into Ladas years ago, ive had 6 so far, and i love them. I had the R100 metro, and love it, but by chance at a car meeting last week i met a guy who i bought my first Lada from , and he had a Lada still!
So after chatting, he said this car was in a sorry state, needed some welding, but would make something good. So i went to look at it and 1k later, i bought it. Its home now this morning. Comes with every panel needed to weld it up fortunatly!

Reminds me of travelling long distances across Russia years ago. The Ladas didn't look much different then! Good luck with the restoration.
when i collected it with my mate, i told him it was in "Russian spec" lol

You just need the Fiat 1600 twincam engine now.

it actually came with a Lada niva 1700 engine, these can bore out to 1900cc aparently, it has twin webbers on it too. So i think the standard lada look but with a little more power is what itll get. The fiat engine is good though!

Hi,
I take it that you are keeping it so it looks original factory speck on the outside that it has now.
My question is what are you doing to the body work to maintain that before putting a clear coat over the whole car.

its in Russian spec now, hopefully it will be fully painted, and just back on the road, not show winning but usable car! i cant wait. Will post some more pics soon!

Its got a bit of spec to this car, twin 40 webbers, janspeed exhaust, rear anti roll bar, twin fronts, it should handle well when tis done. 
So the dash is out and there is holes!
this is where a mouse must have moved in for a bit!
i know there is lots of welding to do, so im not being as fussy with it as in, i want it done so its strong not as pretty and time consuming as possible. I hope to get a fair bit of welding done this weekend.

yes i do like them, but i am thinking of selling them and putting some Lada wheels on it, they did an alloy in that style that is not as nice but its Lada! Could get them powder coated and diamond cut. Itll be good what ever i do to it, but need all the boring welding doing first, thats why im trying to plough into it asap!

I got that panel welded in this morning
i then started to remove the suspension tower, what a job!!
hopefully another day on it tomorrow !

not that much more done today as i was at a car thing this morning, but did a little before the rain!
welded the suspension in
now cleaning the metal back with a scraper and a blow torch, its coming off easy actually

need to get the doors off and replace the sill and floor etc. Could not get teh bolts out so had to weld to them
doors off can look at the floor, no plan at this point jsut went for it

didnt do that much today, went to a car thing this morning, and only had a few hours this afternoon. welded the front of the floor in, and started toward the rear. Used some high zinc weld threw primer on it too

its dark and a bit cold so i went into the garage and started to strip the 1700 21213 engine that came with it from a lada niva. Wish i hadnt have bothered now lol
i put brake fluid down the bores and it on seized quite quickly, but the rust on the bores i think means it wants a rebore. So ill look into options now for what to do. head looks ok, apparently the thing to do is fit pinto valve seats and 1600/1800cc valves.
