Hello all,

Long time lurker and new member here.

My first car was a Teal blue ´71 850 Saloon and I had it for nine years (finally upgraded to ´67 Spitfire).

Now I´m well into my fifties and for a couple of years I´ve collected parts for a possible retirement Mini mk I-II project.

A week ago I came across this and bought it on the spot, unseen, based on two photos.

It´s been stored +30 years and estate of a deceased gentleman finally decided to put it up for sale.

After 7 years they realized that it´s not progressing and is only getting worse as time passes.

I´m hoping for best and it certainly looks untouched, but I´ll know better once I´ll get it in my garage.

If it´s not too bad, I´ll probably start it as a side project.

If it turns out to be a rust bucket, I´ll put it into a long term storage and get back to it when I´m actually retired.

Like to show the photos, but can´t attach them :(

It`s coming home!

Tow guy just messaged and sent this pic.

It took over an hour for pros to get it out from the shed and load it.

He said that it would have been impossible for amateurs with a trailer. Luckily I didn´t listen to my mates..

Got TEA in my garage and started cleaning decades of dust and dirt.

It´s incredibly dirty but so solid and untouched, I can´t believe my luck!

It will take several weekends to get to the bottom of it, but it certainly looks promising.

Color is Smoke Grey (with OEW roof), which is a nice coincidence as my grandfather had a ´62 Morris De Luxe in same color (but with body color roof).

Please find attached a pic of his Mini. He had it from 1962 to 1969 when he traded up to a Morris 1300 4-door in Tartan Red with red interior.

Let's hope it has less holes than a "TEA" Bag....

Lovely looking car. Maybe an idea tomupdate profile so we all know where you are and local people may be able to get in touch and lend a hand with local parts or events to go to and meet like mini minded people.

A garage somewhere in Finland.

Yes!

I´m a member of Finnish Mini Club Flying Finns.

As these Supermodels (pun intended) are rare beasts, I try to gather information wherever I can.
