Hello everyone!

Yup, newbie who has wanted a mini forever, so I bought a restored 1993 mini.

I currently live in The Netherlands, so it is a left hand drive.

I have been looking at getting it personalized:

Potential Motorsport to get a Vtec engine installed - and suspension, brakes and other mechanicals to make it work well,

Optimise Automotive to get some quality interior bits - seats front and back, plus door cards, boot liner etc.

 

Any all advice/opinions are warmly welcome.

Welcome to TMF, the honda vtec is a great engine conversion for the mini, from the ones that I've seen the honda fits under the bonnet quite comfortably and they are very quick cars, good luck with your project.

I thought the front had to be extended by about an inch to get a vtech in a round nose. Not sure about the clubman.

I could be wrong though.

Welcome to TMF, the honda vtec is a great engine conversion for the mini, from the ones that I've seen the honda fits under the bonnet quite comfortably and they are very quick cars, good luck with your project.

i must admit that i am really looking forward to having it all done.

i intend using her on a daily basis so i wanted Honda’s reliability too.

As for the interior, i am looking for understated comfort that’s why I was looking at Optimise Automotives and their products.

 

Any suggestions?

The guy at Potential Motorsport mentioned the tight fit, which is why he suggested a removable front end, to allow the engine to fit comfortably but also for ease of engine access for maintenance. Personally I don’t have an issue with that so long as when I brake the bloody frontend doesn’t keep going forward :)

as far as interior goes I fitted ford KA leather seats front and rear ,they are really comfortable and fairly easy to fit
