[Doors off]

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and firstly I just wanted to say how great this forum is. Full of people with good Mini knowledge.
It's helped me a lot so far and hopefully somebody can help me with two wires that I can't identify.
They're located underneath the steering wheel, have a constant supply of power and both go into the wiring loom under the dash
One of them is green with an orange stripe and the other is white with a black stripe.
I was hoping to upload a picture of them but I'm not sure it thats possible!
The Mini is from 1987.

Sounds like they might be from the rev counter - especially if your Mini hasn't got one!

 

Both should be ignition dependent if I'm right & you could disconnect the other end of the white/black at the coil to confirm.
