Just done the second oil change on my 1098/ remote gearbox and found a complete 1/4"UNF spring washer and a disintegrated similar washer attached to the sump plug magnet.. Immediate thought was oops, need to take the engine out.
Then I started thinking, where did they come from?
I can only think of the 2 nuts/washers holding the bolts through the oil pickup pipe; so where are the nuts? Maybe next oil change.
Can't think of any other source of these washers unless I was careless and dropped 2 of them in when I was assembling the gearbox.
Any thoughts?
