I'm actually in the market for a new guitar and being a les paul player the idea of paying the thick end of a lot of cash for something that spends a lot of time propped up in the corner of the front room and having to drag it across the room due to the weight I'm seriously considering getting an Eastman which seems to tick all the boxes, lighter, no stupid splitting options, seems a win win to me.

Modern Les Pauls have chambering to reduce the weight. Although an SG is lighter still.

Been grinding my teeth for a week trying to make a decision (first world problems!) but today I finally decided from the collection and put a twelve string Tanglewood onboard as my boat guitar. I have romantic notions of campfire singalongs by towpaths on balmy summer evenings with family and friends, when the harsh reality is more likely going to be having shoes thrown at me for noodling in a confined space whilst good old Britain rains hard outside.
