Hello,

I have grp 2 arches which are bolted on using rivnuts and Allen headed bolts with washers. Over time the holes for the arches have become brittle with the holes now larger and thus. The washers not able to secure the arches to the body.

Instead of buying new arches or taking out the rivnuts etc how easy would it be to repair the arches. My thinking is buying fibre glass repair, covering the holes then redrilling. Is this best option or is there other ways I’m missing. I’m compiling a winter list of stuff to fix

Make up some “top hat” inserts to bond in. Will give you a better control of the holes and less wear.

The original BMC Special Tuning fibreglass arches had a 'blob' of 'Isopon' type bodyfiller on the fibeglass behind each of the fixing holes which was drilled, more filler could be added to reinforce the area and be re-drilled.

Reading your reply I’ve looked around and milliput modellers filler apparently sets like stone and cane be drillled! Seeing it as a two part epoxy putting it’ll be ideal to manipulate then use

I've used milliput 2 pack to repair worktops. It's very tough stuff and can be sanded
