Anyone have experience of these tyres: 145/70R12 Michelin XZX? Bit cheaper than the Pirelli Cinturato?

Lots of experience of them on other cars than mini's (mainly Citroen 2CV, Dyane and GSA) they are excellent tyres and i believe are now made with a slightly more modern rubber compound than they used to be. Have to say I dont know the price of the Pirelli's but the XZX michelins never struck me as exactly 'cheap'

If you are after some nice grippy tyres how about a set of yoko`s, they work out at £66 each for four with the TMF discount but I suppose you have your reasons for wanting 145`s

Yes - no arches so 165s too wide. Got Nankang’s on - cheaper, but inner and outer edge preferentially wearing on same tyres - pressure correct. No obvious alignment issues - checked and drives true. Need to change them - so considering better make.

What pressure do you have them at and what are you using to measure it?

 

It simply isn't correct if you are getting the wear that you describe.

Wear on both edges would normally indicate too low pressure,unless you are using too narrow tyres on too wide a rim?Steve..

Standard rims for 145. Pressure 28 psi - decent digital gauge - I check em often. Wear has perplexed me.

Increase them to above 30 psi. You have to watch the wear pattern and adjust the pressure as required.
