Yes, but if the condenser has failed it's likely the points will need looking at.
You just unhook the wire from the end of the spring. Take care to ensure the spring goes back in the plastic isolator so there's no short & the braided earth lead is reattached under the condenser mounting screw.

Thank you Ethel. I have been reading through the Haynes manual but it wasn't clear. I couldn't be sure from looking at the distributor with rotor arm removed ether.

Expect there's a Youtube vid, but if you just look at some retail piccies of the points & condenser it should be pretty obvious how they go together.

With the unreliability of condensers these days I now have two mounted outside the distributor. I have them on the triangular bulkhead bracket just in front of the brake and clutch master cylinders. One is wired in and the other is available if the first one fails. It takes a minute to change the wire from one to the other.

Either buy them from The Distrubutor Doctor (top quality) or fit a competition condensor outside of the distributor.

Thanks. I had not heard of the Distributor Doctor before.
I already have a new Mini Spares condenser, the £10 with the 3m of wire in it.

The good minispares ones are actually the distributor doctor ones. The last one I got had the distributor doctor label on it.
