Hi all,

Got a gap between the door skin / weather strip and the window.

Does anyone have any fantastic tips to resolve!?

presumably it follows the shape of the top of the door skin, if you take the rubber off does that top edge also bow outwards in the middle in the same way ?

What are the door gaps like, front & rear? Suspect the skin hasn't been wrapped round the frame tight enough.

 

You probably won't want unpick it to have another go - you might be able to tweak the lip the seal sits on to close the  gap. A good straight edge (spirit level, perhaps) will help to show what isn't flat & could be persuaded to get it closer.

Yeah think you're absolutely right. Looks like the door skin is somewhat bowed out. Struggling to bend it over itself if that makes sense such that it when it springs back it's tight. Might strip the door down so I can add some more persuasion!

Yeah you might have to push it slightly past where you want it to be, does winding the window right down not give you enough clearance

I'd probably want to get a length wood maybe wrap some cloth round it and then use that to push on instead of pushing just in one place

If you can good a good sense of where it's bowing you might be able to lose it more in the vertical using the little return  below the seal, if that makes sense.
