[4XMOKE]

A great big barrel of thanks to Chris (Spider) Katsikas and Greg Petrikas, as of today, one of the four Mokes we used to cross the Simpson Desert in 2023, now resides in the UK.

Ten weeks Sydney to Southampton, including three weeks sat in Singapore docks, then the long detour around Africa instead of the short cut through the Red Sea and Suez, yes, world shipping is in chaos at the moment !

I have to recommission the Moke as it needed to be drained of fuel and electrically isolated prior to shipping, it also needs going through to inspect it after our 8500km desert trip, although I have to say that other than breaking a driveshaft and trouble with a fuel tank change-over valve, it caused no trouble at all, and we traversed some damn awful roads and huge dunes.

Glad it arrived OK mate, even if it was the slow boat to China England.

 

Greg makes for such a,,,,, such a,,,,, Mmmmm,,,,,,,, OK, let's move on !!

Looks like she - KP as we christened her - arrived OK and none the worse for the Voyage, ready to start the next chapter of adventures.

For those who may not know, it was also 1 of the 2 Mokes to be the first ever to cross the 1300 km of the Anne Beadell Highway.

Also, 1 of 4 Mokes to be the first ever to Poepells Corner and to cover the Hay River Track.
