Temperature and Fuel Gauge is completely dead. After checking everything I realised its the voltage regulator. It's a 1993 mini so it's built into the instrument cluster so the whole thing needs to be replaced rather than old models that had the voltage stabliser separate. Fingers crossed this fixes the light issue also

It's a possibility, but it could also just be a poor connection. Haven't done it myself, but I think people have sorted that voltage regulator without an all in replacement

I very much doubt that is the cause of the right hand side lights coming on..... UNLESS there is some kind of damage to the PCB that is allowing the non-working instruments to back feed into the instrument light part of the PCB - if you recall I mentioned the instrument lights are fed off the RH side light circuits on your year of mini

The stereo is one of the few places where dashboard illumination and constant power come together. A small fault may be enough to light LEDs but not standard bulbs. Try unplugging stereo.
