Hi , my drivers door does not line up with the striker plate.
When it is shut it is fine buy the striker plate forces it to be in the correct position.
How do I adjust the hinge ? just use a packing shim at the bottom hinge ?
Thanks Martin.

Yes - you can use both shims on the hinges and also the striker plate can be moved to get the correct alignment. If nececessary the frame can be persuaded into position too if it has been moved but hopefully not necessary and a combination of shims and movement in the striker plate will be fine?

Minispares do a couple of different thickness door hinge shims for Mk3 on doors (see link below) or you can make your own:-
http://www.minispare...door shims.aspx
Or you may need to remove some factory fitted shims if you find any when removing the door.
Also beware of rust in the door hinge wheel arch area or rusted hinge studs making things a bigger/more difficult job than you planned!
