Evening all,
On my trusty Mk2 the CNH smiths gauge gives me a reading of the engine temp but I’d like to add a gauge for personal preference which details the degree temperature as well. Will the temperature sensor wired back to the voltage regulator allow me to split the connection to the current CNH gauge or will I require a new sensor in the thermostat housing to do so? I’m happy to do either but if it’s not possible by taking a feed from the existing gauge then I’ll change the thermostat housing and add a second sensor. Sorry if this seems like a daft question! Cheers

If you want add another gauge, you'll need an additional sender, if however you wanted to swap it out for a numbered Smith Gauge, you can usually use the same sender.

Alternatively you could fit a mechanical capillary type water temperature gauge which would be totally independent of the electric CNH gauge and sensor.
