I got this grille with the car and was wondering what it came from originally.  I have fitted it with quick release buttons on a 1967 Austin Countryman.  Did this grille come from that model in the first place as a few people have commented that that is the wrong grille for my car.  I have another wavy grille I can fit if it is more in keeping.  If I were to sell this is it worth anything.  Thanks

That’s an early Mini Super grill. It wouldn’t have come on your Countryman originally but is a very rare factory part.

Thank you.  Further to your response I think I will list it to sell.  What reserve do you think I should put on it.  Thanks

I would contact Garry Dickens of the 'Mini Super Register' in link below for advice, he may also have a buyer in the Register keen to purchase your very rare grille!

Also worth asking on the Mk1 Forum (see link below) as there are a few Mini Super owners on there:-

"An incredibly rare brochure. During the very short production life of the ill fated "Super", the designation of our favourite little cars changed from the Morris Mini Minor & the Austin Seven to the Austin & Morris Mini. Not only were these cars not popular when new, but their rarity has been vastly increased by the fact that they were so easy to convert into a Cooper. In the past 40 years almost every one of these cars has been Cooper-ised, making a genuine Super a very rare beast indeed!"

More Mini Super brochures in link below (scroll down) :-

Note the special grille with vertical bars and the Cooper chrome trim around the door window frames. The Super pre-dated the launch of the Cooper.
