Some basic 850 Minis were fitted with rubber mats including for some export markets. They are now very rare as few of the mats have survived over the years and owners often replaced them with carpets as an aftermarket upgrade. I would keep them as they are now a very rare feature whether original or aftermarket! Rubber mats were more often factory fitted to the commercial Mini Vans and Pick ups but these are also very rare to find now and sought after by restorers.

The Mk1 Forum members may be able to confirm if D.R.Co. Ltd were a known supplier to BMC & BL so may be worth asking on there also or I can ask if you prefer.

Thank you

I am also registered there, I will ask that community too  :proud:

Unfortunately the front piece is pretty bad, worn and torn.

This one is a LHD car and it came from Switzerland.

Looks like it's from a pre '76 saloon. Going by the apparent lack of seat hold down catches & twin cable hand brake???

My MK2 850 Mini would have had rubber matts instead of carpets, as it was a base model. The front one is long gone (replaced by black carpet) and the back one is pretty poor shape now due age an damp. Definitely worth hanging on to them as they are a nice period feature.

My plan is to repair / glue the front piece as far as possible.

Someone on the Mk1 forum wrote that DRCo is Dunlop Rubber Co Ltd
