Realized I need to grease where it’s needed. Want to make sure I get the swivel hub, radius arms, and upper support arms.

What’s the best/easiest to use gun to get? Was looking at this: http://www.minispare...k%20to%20search

Also, what grease do I buy?

Don’t bother with new grease guns, most are rubbish, try to find an old Wanner brand one. Even at decades old the ones I bought for a few quid on eBay are far better than the new one I had.

As for grease, I’m sure there’s an official spec but most just use general purpose lithium grease for suspension joints.

Totally agree with the above statement regarding modern grease guns being rubbish.
I found this old Tecalemit grease gun in the garage of the house I bought. Best grease gun I've ever had. No oozing oily grease mess everywhere when left stored like modern grease guns.

Whatever gun you buy, get a flexible rubber hose, just makes getting on the joints a thousand times easier than the fixed metal pipe.

I bought a cheap eBay one, silver line or some crap like that.
It works really well but .....once it locks over the nipple it's a two handed, feet against the car job to pull it off.

I had the same problem and ended up buying a Zerk lock on G coupler to replace the cheap fitting. Probably cost as much as the grease gun but works a treat

In regards to good grease guns, I haven't seen anyone complain about Macnaught ones even though I believe they are now imported (used to be made in Australia). I've seen people recommending them on UK based forums so they can't be that bad. I have ones which are probably at least 50 years old.

I have an old Wanner one but it doesn't work. Tried to clean it out but with no success. I suspect some seals have gone. Anyway got one of these from Screwfix. Cheap and it seems to work just fine. These days you can also get the grease in a sort of tube that goes straight into the gun which is less messy.

+1 for the tubes of grease. Far less messy.

The reason the nipple sometimes doesn't want to release seems to be back-pressure from the grease. I find it happens especially on the swivels because the grease channels there are so thin that the grease doesn't flow into them at all easily. Slightly unscrewing the nipple from the hose (or the hose from the gun) releases the pressure and then the nipple easily comes away.

Lock-on nipple is a new one to me... looks a good solution and I'd like to give one a try but there seem to be a lot of generic ones (around £12) and a few - mostly still unbranded though G.Coupler comes up a bit - around £25. Recommendations, anyone?
