I thought it would be interesting to see what homemade mods and improvements people have done to their cars.
I’ll start with quite a simple one but I have installed a rear parcel shelf mounted brake light for improved visibility, used an old rear fog light I had and wired into the offside brake light.

What have you done?

fitted rear wiper once with one from a scrappers, when you could mooch about and see what would / may fit, and screen wash bag kit from halfords. on current car old ford xr2 digital clock / light and mirror moved to stick on screen. 12" sub in boot and rear seat perforated with 2" holes. Rear inertia seatbelts below parcel shelf before rover fitted them to storage boxes (have seam welded and reinforced shelf)

I got so miffed pulling the heater apart to get a leaf out of the heater twice last year bought a sheet of 22mm air filter fitted a 1/4 stainless mesh behind the filter and the 3 single wires to hold it in place that are easily removed to clean it. Doesn’t affect the air flow and a bonus of contributing to the noise reduction.

Not had a leaf in the heater yet (nor do I want one either!!) but this solution looks very neat!

Used to get leaves all the time and did a similar filter on the intake mod.

I am overseas at the moment so can only show a picture of the light in the door and not lit up.  I will post a photo of it lit up on the floor when back next week.

Wonder if clubby heater intakes are more prone to ingesting stuff because the hose isn't as uphill as the round nose's? Can't say I ever noticed.

I have always thought the scoop was overly large and yes the hose runs parallel to the scoop so a smoother path to the heater.
