Just to add fuel to the fire, back when i was gapping Project Erms doors, i used some brand new non original hinges.
Doors repaired, skinned offered up, gapped where required (a tad too tight in hindsight) and happy days. Went to fit the DSN Billet Aluminium hinges Scott had bought and disaster. Those buggers properly threw the door out. what the hell!!!!
After much head scratching and getting nowhere fast i rang the chaps at DSN and had a good chat. Their dimensions for their hinges came directly off OE hinges and were checked against others as well if memory serves me right.
They asked me to measure up the pattern hinges we had and to our suprise they were thicker overall by just under 3mm. Now in the grand scheme of things a not too big a difference but in my case due to the metal i had added to the door edges for those £1 coin gaps it made a huge difference.
So if like me you have added metal to the front and back edges to close the gaps up just be a tad wary. If not you should be good to go.
