Dear all, I have just registered to help a friend who has bought a 1993 Mini from Italy and imported to Switzerland... where it seems near-impossible to get it registered/road legal since the 1993 was never imported here.

 

The problem seems to be the engine, which is a 12A2B. (VIN = SAXXNYADMBD...)

 

Since we do not have a type approval code for 1993 for this Mini in Switzerland, and we seem also to be unable to get a CoC (Certificate of Conformity), we might just try the path of getting an individual road worthy certificate / MOT. For this we'll need the original tech specification sheets. For the car itself that should not be too difficult since it is the same as the 1992, except for the engine.

 

Does anyone have an idea how to locate, or who might have, the original tech spec sheet for the 12A2B engine?

 

Any advice much appreciated!

I'm away just now but what info I have with me the 12A2B Engine is the same spec as the 12A2A engine from 1992, only it includes a cat in the exhaust.
