Hi, I've just bought this gorgeous little car. It's in reasonable condition and has been restored at some point. There's a few bits of rust but not too bad. It has a 1275 Metro (I presume) engine with an HIF44 and cone filter (which I want to revert back to stock). 7.5 inch brakes and a servo help the stopping and it also has electronic ignition. 10 inch alloy wheels of unknown make are fitted, along with Yoko 0008's all round. There's a custom exhaust too as well as a Fletcher radiator. No oil/water leaks from the engine which is refreshing.

First impressions are that the car drives very well and there's a bit of power there. The gearstick mounts need looking at as it's a bit vague, and the fuel gauge isn't working (new sender unit on its way). It has the usual damp carpet in the front footwells and a leak in the boot too, all these will be rectified in due course.

I love the car and it's full of character. It's only done less than 1000 miles in 20 years, so it's going to get a shock with me driving it when the sun comes out!

No engine mods planned as it has already got what I need. The plugs are a little sooty so I may change the needle I've bought Silent Coat/Dynamat and soundproofing foam to make the journeys a little less ear bleeding. I've bought a Mini Spares car specific weatherproof cover which fits perfectly. I'm looking at getting some wheel arch liners from Mini Sport which I hope will be able to fit the clubby.

I'm looking forward to maintaining the car, driving it round and running out of petrol.

Nice Mini Clubman Estate!

Your alloy wheels are Mamba:-

I fitted Mamba Alloy wheels on my first Morris Mini-Minor 850cc Mk1 back in 1974!

Nice wee mini there.. Great find. These are getting difficult to find...

The wheels are mambas.

Also I hope you know the fuel sender for the estate tank is very different from the saloon.

But sure you have it under control..

Enjoy many mini happy miles..

Thanks for the wheel confirmation, I never thought I'd own mambas, was always a Minilite fan. They really suit the car though.

I've got the estate fuel sender on order thankfully. Now looking for door seals and estate window seals to see if I can sort the leaks.

Just done a search for Blaze Orange BLVC16 and some people say it's vermillion red BLVC118! The V5 just says red.

Pretty sure this is a stainless steel exhaust? It's new but I'm swapping it out.

That's a beautiful looking Clubman estate.  My mum had a nearly new one in the early '80s in green with the same stickers.  Great memories.

It's been quiet over winter and the car's been under wraps. I've just taken it for a spin, starts on the button and drove well around town. A couple of rattles that I need to isolate but it is a Mini, after all. I've got new seat covers on order (paid for in October, not received yet 😫) which I'll fit in Spring, and I have another set of wheels being refurbed (nightmare) along with new Yoko's. New pads to be fitted and I'll get it serviced, most likely at AB Garage in Deeside.

A few bits of rust, not sure whether to get them treated or leave it as it is for now.

I soundproofed the Mini last year, with sound deadening and foam, made a huge difference

Dropped the tank and fitted a new fuel gauge sender unit, the boot floor must have been replaced at some point.

Looks great!

Which brand of sound deadening did you use?

It is a mixture of mainly 4mm & some 2mm silent coat sheets with unbranded 10mm closed cell foam.
