Solid State Voltage Regulator/stabilizer

Best Answer Spider , 05 May 2024 - 06:25 PM

Each gauge is roughly 200 mA. The LM7810 will easily run 5 gauges, though it will want mounting on a heat sink.

OK, this is an electrical thing so I haven't got a scooby, I've decided to change the gauge voltage regulator/stabilizer thingy ( central clocks) from the present it'll last a week sometimes more to one of these new fangled solid state jobs, I've sussed out I need a LM7810 which seems simple enough to fit for even a colour blind divot like me,now to the question apparently they can handle 1.5 amps, is this enough for the 2no gauges ( temp/fuel) or will I need one for each.

Cheers

I got one off ebay and it runs all the clocks. Don't know if it's exactly the same one. Someone on here recommended it I think.

Thanks for that Spider, much appreciated. Looking at the prices of the regulators they seem like a win win situation, I can get a handful for under a tenner.
