The heater is easy to drop and move out of the way if that would help.

Hi - I  changed the fuses  and I now have a dipped main beam :-)

Though the strange thing is that  the electric fan has sprung back to life   - I have not heard the fan for years.

Car electrics  is like magic  - strange things  happen.

Thanks again

Another good job by the mini forum members...

Please consider the hassles and expense a garage would have charged for a repair..

Pay for the garage knowledge or try paying for membership and get more discounts...

Cheers.. also well done on the mini fix...

Brilliant, well done! Next time you have problems this will be the first place to check, on my 93 sprite, the fuse holder had melted, I have upgraded to blade fuses for these 4 fuses

I'm so glad I came across this thread, as my 1994 Mini35 nearside main beam suddenly stopped working after a loose connection on my spotlight circuit shorted against the bodywork.  Having searched for a blown fuse and other wiring faults, I read the above and immediately found a blown inline fuse on the blue/white circuit, one of four tucked beside the heater body next to the steering column.  Thanks to those who posted on here it has saved me further hours of time, and possibly expense.  99p for  2 15amp glass fuses at Halfords.

I have exactly the same problem but only the nearside isn’t working. This was a fail on the MOT  :shy:

I have checked the in line fuses behind the dash but none of them seem to be blown.

Think I’ll replace them anyway to see if this makes a different.
