I presume the rear number plate must be backlit somehow, otherwise not legal?

To be fair, if I lost my Mk1, that is the kind of solid and well specced vehicle I'd buy to replace it. I think circa £18k would be a good buy for this vehicle.

I am about to advertise (probably in March) a MK1 1961 in a similar condition to that. It does have a 1275 that is unmodded and some tan bucket seats. But otherwise has a full interior. It also has S discs and wheels with adjustable suspension all round. Recently restored to a very good standard I'm looking for £15500. Drop me a line if interested. I'll list it in for sale as well.

I'd say around 12-15k max, nothing higher.

The OP vehicle is still registered as a 998, has yours been altered to 1275? I'm not sure how much of a problem it is to have an incorrect V5 or how easy it is to change the engine size on the V5. Something about needing a bill of sale and an engine number? Not sure.

I know the car you are selling quite well-I had a sale agreed with the guy that restored it, just before I went to collect it he told he he’d decided to keep it,but sold it to someone else.shortly after I did see it advertised for nearly twice what I’d agreed to buy it for so someone did ok out it lol.
It’s a lovely car but it’s not for me at that price I’m afraid.
