I know nothing lasts forever but my exhaust has been making my ears bleed lately ands I've been putting it down to getting old but having just finished making a new stainless one that actually clears the gear linkages and seatbelt bolts I decided to have a look at the 10 year old RC40 to find there wasn`t any packing left in it.

Food for thought if you`re finding things a bit loud.

I`m so glad I made the new one repackable, the screws will be replaced with rivets or stainless before I fit it.

I didn't think the RC40 ever had stuffing in it? Just remembering when I first saw it in David Vizard's book.

how different is the sound when packed? twin box system was never loud to begin with

I've blown nearly all the wadding out of my Maniflow, had the 'hairs' all over my back end for a few weeks

It had packing in the middle box and the second larger part of the rear box.

I replaced the centre section with just pipe after the middle box split and was blowing. The increase in sound was there but lasted only a few days then I got used to it. No idea what it sounds like driveby speeds etc.
