Heelboard married with the floor panel with upgraded welding skill  :D  Voltage up, wire speed down

Maybe the plugwelds are too dense but strong

Something is not aligned here  O_O  Other side is good, outer sills are not welded yet

Any ideas ?

The low compression, did you turn the engine to get oil pressure up first?
Did you put a little oil down the bores before compression testing?
Assuming the engine has stood not running for some time, some oil down the bores and turn over until you have oil pressure (or if rocker cover off oil coming up to the valve train decently)
Then try another compression test, even maybe get it running and let it run a while then cool before doing the compression check.
Diving straight to checking compression of an engine that’s sat will not give you sensible readings

The engine already dismantled. The pistons were collapsed, the bore-to-piston gaps were huge. It had to be rebored to 1st oversize.

And the surfaces under the main bearing caps are pitting from rust. Because of this the crank is seizing when the bolts torqued.

I will have an other trip to the machine shop

I see, the thing really was worn out then.

Have read your whole thread now, the car looks to be in good hands, you are doing great work

And the boot floor is its place, even the rubber mat fits perfectly  :D  I've primed all fixed panels with 2k epoxy.

I had to cut and weld the front part of the floor cross member so I've lost the seat bracket nuts but purchased some UNF rivet nuts.
