Lucas and Desmo did similar back in the day. Not standard location for a ming mirror though usually higher up nearer the window seal trim.
Quick check came up with this.

There is not too much progress, just measured the crankshaft today. It is in factory condition at all journals so it does not need any work.

Question #2
My car is an early Mk 3. Unfortunately someone changed the sill for a flat sheet metal in the past.
Should it have 4 or 6 flute outer sill ?

Mine has 6...
January 1976, the few last MK3 I believe.
Victor.

I have the same mirror, spring snapped.
I'll have a look at the sills as they are original.
76 Authi, Swiss market.
They still sell the head at TEX but without the stem

A Ming mirror? I don't think it's that old!

If it is an Authi I would expect 4 vent sills but the B20S body number on the front panel would indicate a UK built shell - UK built cars had 6 vent sills from December 1970.

Little steps forward...
From the other topic I learned that I have to scrap the pistons. Unfortunately Haynes has some "mistake" with the numbers. In short I ordered a new +020 set, then we'll visit the machine shop for a rebore and other stuff. I could clean the nasty-rusty rest form the block and head at least.
Finally the panels from M-Machine arrived today! They travelled 4 (four) days from the UK to Hungary. Here they spent 3 (three) weeks at the customs
Meanwhile I am cleaning the bits, preparing the bolts for galvanizing, etc... I want to save as many original item as I can
And I hope she will survive the winter under that raincoat

Advice request !
I bought some panels for the floor : 2 front quarter pieces and the whole-length round tunnel. Maybe I can save the rear quarters of the floor - this is my optimistic plan at least.
Should I replace the whole tunnel or cut the front piece only ?
