This may not apply but my 1098 build uses flat top pistons and the block skimmed to within 5 thou of piston top. Keith Calver built the cylinder head with a specified CR in mind and the combustion chambers ended up as 28.8cc. It may be that a Miglia engine is built using a similar method so the combustion occurs in a larger chamber. Maybe I'm wrong.
I have a spare 12G940 'stage 3' head with 36x31 valves and a chamber of just over 25cc. Could be the same reason if flat tops are fitted.

Hadn't realised flat top 1293 - 1380 pistons were available. Must be an advantage if you can get the required cc in the head
