Rust Goop

Hi all.

As part of the renovation, I’m replacing the radiator, hoses, thermostat etc. But as the mini has sat still for 7 years, it’s built up a lot of rust goop under the thermostat. (Photo).
Best way to clear it all out? Flush it?

It certainly looks like the sort of thing that usually gets flushed.

I used CRC Thermocure Coolant System Rust Remover (from Amazon, naturally) to clean my cooling system.  I take good care of my cooling system but was amazed at the amount of stuff that was cleaned out.  It takes a bit of time to completely flush the cleaner but totally worth it.
