Hi there,

I'm helping an acquaintance with a 1971 Mini Cooper S 1275cc Wood & Pickett. We are trying to find out more about the car and work out what a reasonable sale price would be.

I've already found some websites online which talk about Wood & Pickett but any resources would be most welcome!

What do you think this particular one would be worth these days? Is the fact that it is Wood & Pickett important, according to you, or is it just like a regular Mini Cooper S?

Very nice.

Might be worth contacting this lot to see if they have any history on that particular car

I agree you should contact the Mini Cooper Register Coachbuilt Mini expert Registrar: Steve Burkinshaw:-

Also try the Mk1 Forum in link below who have lots of info on Mk3 Cooper S and Wood & Pickett conversions (I have posted a photo in their W&P info thread to kick things off for you) :-

Also I advise you remove the photo of the VIN/Chassis number from anywhere online as this can be used to apply for a V5c from DVLA to steal the vehicles identity by car thieves....

W&P minis do generally attract a premium price and are quite sought after. If it needs a lot of work as lots of the parts upgrades and extras they have are are no longer available such as the door quarter window rubbers, all of the webasto sunroof parts, electric window parts etc and the de-seam it’s had will be the old fashioned lead loading so restoring them is also an expensive pursuit. I would of thought an auction house would be the best option for finding out what it’s possibly worth and I would presume be able to get the largest audience for its sale.
