Alternative For Guessworks Flywheel Puller

The flywheel on my 1275 SPI does not want to budge. Having destroyed two flywheel pullers in the process, I decided to by a GuessWorks flywheel puller only to find out these are not longer available.

What other options do I have now as I need a real strong one I guess.

(so Gutted I did not buy one previously when I ordered parts at John a few years ago..)

Drop him an email. He is currently moving workshop so quite a few things are “not available “.

 

other option is the KAD one.

KAD puller, superb piece of kit.
It's a bit of a squeeze, but it will fit in situ as well, but you can't get a socket on it. I use a 32mm ring spanner plus a homemade 2 foot long spanner extension bar.

In my experience Sykes Pickavant always produced good quality equipment/

The KAD one does seem to be a good one.

If you look around you may find an old Churchill or Coxhead Hydraulic type. I have the later and it's never failed me yet. You can see it in action here;-

 

 

You can almost do it single handed with one of these.

I would express some caution in dealing with this company. It is not the original VL Churchill who made the tools for BMC / Leyland, but a rouge who re-registered the name after it expired from the original owners. He has a well known chequered past.

My Churchill works great. Not cheap
