The wipers on my 1967 Countryman keep coming off the spindles.  I bought new arms and blades from Minisport but they will not stay on.  They dont seem to go down far enough on the spindle.  I have considered drilling and putting a screw in to hold them on but this would not look good.  Pointers and ideas please as cannot take out as if it rains I have problems.  Thanks

Used to place some aluminium foil around the spindles years ago when they were worn. Might be worth a try.

Have you actually measured the height of the splined spindle and the depth of the cups on the arms?  The cup should drop far enough over the spindle for the spring clip to lock under the spindle splines.  If there isn't enough depth for this to happen it might be worth taking it up with minisport.

i've found that on mine the issue is that the ribs on the wiper arm cups get thicker toward the bottom of the cup which stops the arm fully seating on the spindle and the spring clip locking in place

i intend to get the dremel out and take some material off the bottom 2-3mm of the ribs to let the arms seat properly.

I had a similar issue, gave the spindles a good clean, raked out the splines with a craft knife or similar. All sorts of evil crap came off.

Minisport do like a questionable quality part though.

Brilliant for all the advice.  Will get measuring first and if needed file out the cups.  The arms dont go far enough doen so presume cups at fault.  Thank you again

Dremel used material removed from inside cup.  Now fits onto splines and spring fits in place.  Thanks again
