I have heard of Megajolt but wondered if there are any other popular distributorless (DIY or Commercial) options?

Sometimes best find a garage you have faith in locally and intend to use for any tuning work and ask their opinion/ experience.

Also depends on what you are running. Twin cam or full on a.series.

I don't think there's much to choose between them if it's basically just to replace a dizzy. Other than cost & there can be not much difference there either when you add it all up.

Megajolt will keep getting harder to find the Ford Edis module it needs. Systems that can use newer coil packs, or coil on plug, will have better serviceability if more bits of it can be had from mundane production cars.

I don't get their logic, but rolling roads etc can be picky about what they'll touch. As above - you might want to have that conversation before you buy. Though a big advantage is being able to data log on the actual road instead.

Speeduino can go on your list as a Megajolt successor. There's a few on the forum sharing their experience of going that route.

Polestar is my choice, based on knowing Neil Turner (the guy who invented it) and Jon Lee who runs Lynx AE and can set it up on his rolling road. They’re the most important things to consider when it comes to choosing the system that you go with.

As mentioned above, some rolling road operators are a bit snobby about whose ignition systems they’ll setup. Also consider what you’ll need from it in the future as not all of them will do F.I, control boost etc

The rolling road I spoke to recommended Omex because of the excellent after sales service.  They said if they're having a problem when the vehicle is on the rollers they can phone Omex and often get a solution there and then.

Polestar here, had one of their very first ones. Great support from Neil on the phone as well.
