Evening all,

 

got a 998 mini with a stage 3 head/ other add ons, i havent driven it and its been sitting fot a good five years, just uncovered & gave it a clean

 

Ive got a new rebuilt carb to go on & will get her running, but are there any good workshops who can set the carb up & do a dyno run at all?

 

Im based in south london but can travel within reason,

 

There was a place in east /romford way from memory carb setups/ correct needle & tune up the car but i cant recall what they we're called & if there still about if anyone knows?

 

or any other good places i can go to

I have used Ac Dodd-cck historic in Uckfield and BD engineering in Rainham kent.
Ac Dodd is in the forum so message him or he might see this post.

I've used CCK in Uckfield a few times.  Do a good job,just avoid upsetting Graham by looking over his shoulder.  Those that have used these in Crawley have given positive views

Another recommendation for AC Dodd from me. He travels around the country offering his tuning services for classic Minis (and other cars with SU carbs, mostly A-Series powered). No need for a rolling road as he can get excellent results from a static tune with single carbs. If you can get a couple of people together to chip in and pay for tuning multiple cars in the same location, it can make the cost much more economical between you, but either way it's money well spent.

Track'n'Road I think is the place your thinking about, just off the Aveley/Rainham turn off on the A13 next to the cafe, up the slip and 1st turning on the roundabout.

It started from where I parked and rapidly went down hill from there.  Fortunately, we ended up as mates but that was after he moaned that he nearly broke his nose due to my brakes being too sharp!!  Car runs sweet as a nut though!

I go to CCK Historic most weeks as I'm Chief Engineer for CCK Motorsport, doing their Porsche 992 GT Carrera Cup Car and Cayman GT4.
Graham is very knowledgeable with carbs and dizzy, if your pleasant and helpful he's a ******* cat 😄
