O.k. so here is a question for anyone who can assist.

Worked on hundreds of cars and know how each manufacturer gets round the issue.

But with next to naff all space between the door and the pillar...

What does everyone else do.

I have a project on the go and need to run at least 6 wires to each door and obviously do not wish to nip any when the door closes...

Remember fitting central locking from a metro vandem plas back in the day... got to be a 20th century answer.

Any assistance greatfully appreciated...

Thanks....

You used to be able to get something made for the purpose.  It was a tube you ran the wires though and it would be fixed to the A pillar and then slide through a grommet in and out of the door.  They were available from car accessory shops back in the day but don't know if you can still get them.  You could probably make something similar.

Search on eBay for a “door wiring gaiter” there are loads of different shapes and sizes for different cars.

That's what I did. Just 2 grommets & some tubing. Drilled the hole in body a bit smaller so it squeezed that grommet more than the one in the door

On my W&P 1275 they had drilled 14mm holes parallel from the door through the pillar and what was there was similar to what Ethel has described but had all fallen apart. I couldn’t find a grommet to fit the A post as the metal was too thick, so i shrink wrapped the wires then I threaded that from behind the dash down through the A post and through the hole and into the door. I found the tubing pictured below on eBay which has a 15mm OD. From inside the door and with a smear of silicon lubricant on it (the tube has a spiral profile on it) so then just threaded it over the wires and then threaded it through both holes. It’s a fit snug fit and seals the holes through the door and post. It’s been on 5 years not split or damaged in any way.

This is my next mission.
I'm hunting for some "S" grommets to fit in my '99.
