The ECU switches the ground connection to the relay I believe.

The ECU switches the ground connection to the relay I believe.

Reading the manual it stated output for fuel. But there are a few versions all in the same manual. Without knowing exactly.

The diode would go between where the the feed to operate the solenoid is tapped off and the alternator.

ign switch---T--- Diode >I---- alternator
I
Relay terminal 86

Any diode that can handle 12v 5A of forward current should do.

Reckon something like an optocoupler could be better though, you may even get something that's a complete package with a relay - or isolate the alternator from the ignition circuit via a relay too....

In this post and one other you say solenoid, do you mean relay?

An @Icey says that the diode needs to be connected anywhere on the cable from the alternator to the charge warning light (I think this is the brown / yellow wire) and your suggesting is confusing me? Can you expand on the basis that I am going to connect the ECU relay on Terminal 1 of the Fuse Box (White Wire Connections to the old Ignition Coil and Inst Cluster?

Sorry, yes relay

As Icey says is fine, if it's less confusing.

...you want current coming from the ignition switch to reach your circuit, but the diode to block current coming from the alternator.
