Hi all,
Does anyone know why a previous owner has added these inline fuses? I've tried looking at the wiring diagram but can not work it out.
I think the colours are 'blue' to 'blue/orange' and 'brown' to 'brown/orange'.
Is this something common and needed?
Thanks

And blue to Blue orange each side of a fuse was standard for the fog light.
and there are a few of those fuses in the cars.

The blue has a new inline fuse looking at the blue crimp connectors. Would it be that it used to have one like the brown and has been replaced?
Maybe it's just that which is making me think 2 have been added in.

On later cars there are 6 inline fuses in that location.
I'd check on a wiring diagram for your model and year and see what should be there.
Could the fuse holder have been renewed hence the blue connectors and different coloured wires.
I'd double check what the wiring colours should be.

It could just be they've replaced an original fuse holder that rotted away.

The other I would suggest is brown and orange purple which is also shown with an inline fuse and is for interior lamps and hazards.
If you check these circuits work then undo the fuse holder and see if they stop working it will prove the circuit.

Thank the help all.
I'm starting to question if I'm using the correct haynes manual/wiring diagram. The one I have is this:
Which I'm using this diagram:
What keeps throwing me is the fuse box on the car has 4 terminals each side (8). But the diagram has a total of 4 (Number 19).
Am I reading it wrong? or do I need a newer manual?

That being said the haynes wiring diagrams are not the best. Try to find a Leyland workshop manual.

You are looking at the wrong page. That one is for up to about 1971.

Ok I think I've got the right page now and found the blue to blue/orange fuse (highlighted in red).
This is correct, yea?
I was having problems understanding that because when I was looking for the fuse box (Number 19) it only had 1 connection (2 points). I didn't realised theres 4 Number 19's on the diagram. ha!

The wire colours follow a standard scheme (mostly).
Blue is headlights, blue/white high beam, blue/red dipped. The fog light should be dependent on the headlights, because you should use both in fog & so you'll at least turn it off with the headlights if you forget to do so directly.

Yes that is one, the other is the 67 inline fuse near the top just above the starter No 5.
