That fire extinguisher looks incredibile,. ..Brilliant candidate for a  fuel tank, those rivets and brass fittings will suit this really well.

I love that you're going to have crack (definitely no pun intended) at casting your own parts too! looking forward to that section.

Hi Retro_10s, I'm making the patterns but don't have the capabilities to do my own casting, so I've found a local foundry in West Molesey

Not a huge amount of progress this weekend, just filling and smoothing the patterns and no photos

And then dropped back on to making the armour plating which can just be seen between the leaf springs and ash frame

Not much progress this weekend, although I did manage to get out to pick up some metal for the armour plating during the week from a great local company Rudgewick Metals

I started cutting and drilling the armour plating

I also need to thank Jack Kerr a young local blacksmith - JK Forge for helping shape the thicker steelwork

Armour plating - are changing it into a tank or looking to make a roadtrip to Ukraine?

Not had much time over the last month.

This weekend has been "drilling it round when it aught to be square" - a bad misquote from Bernard Cribbins "Hole in the ground"

These are washers that need square holes for the bolts

Looking amazing, have missed reading this project. Interesting that you painted the patterns before sending them to the foundry, any specific reason for doing so. Just to highlight well deserved pride in a great job maybe :D ?

Thank you, I was pleased with how the pattern came out, just thought having a smooth finish would be better to release the pattern from the sand.

Hi, Thanks for the message, unfortunately no progress on this project, just waiting for the weather to pick up as it's an outside job and need some headspace to work out what I do with the castings.

Cheers Darren

At last starting to surface after what has seemed like a long winter. One of my next tasks will be welding the front suspension mounts so I've just finished off a faux riveted steel welding screen to protect the cars in the garage when I start welding. I thought it would be a quick job but estimating is clearly not a strong point of mine. It's finished, took me longer and cost more than if I bought a screen
