This is part of the reason for making the cyclecar, with the Festival of Speed (FoS) coming up this weekend.

I'd like to attend another FoS but this is the Festival of Slowth

This is the vehicle that inspired the project

It was restored by Tim Gunn, the guy that does the bicycle restorations on The Repair Shop

It's not how I woke up (this is how I got the wheels from FB)

but it's how I look now (and a bucket of soapy water later)

bad use of of a song lyric (Rinse & repeat by Riton)

The photo doesn't show the true colour green it looks "army green" so I wonder what the history is of them

Got these scrapper bikes from a local bike charity, they were on the scrap pile so I made a donation and gave them some mountain bike wheels I bought for the cyclecar, but juts wouldn't look right. The plan is to cut the bottom brackets off bend the cranks mount them vertically on the front axle as steering joint

or another plan is to make some cast iron steering joints, so making patterns at the moment and I'll gets some photos tomorrow

A bit of gratuitous angle grinding for one set of steering axles

I like the BSA sprocket, I'll repurpose it somehow.

and some woodwork making a pattern for another style of steering axle to be cast in iron

still needs a lot of work, but getting there.

I found an old fire extinguisher on FB marketplace only £20 which I thought was a bargain. I love the look of the rivets so thought it would be a good candidate for a fuel tank. Just need to work out how to dismantle it and hope there's nothing nasty inside and then put a filler cap on it

also spent a bit more time working of the pattern for sand casting the king pins and axle end

I've no idea if they'll be strong enough in cast iron, but I'll be going so slow that if anything does fail it'll be in slow motion
