As the name suggests, I'm planning to create an homage to a 1920's cyclecar, based on this book

and some inspiration from Gunn & Co who created this amazing machine, the Grafton

it may be a long journey, but at least I have a JAP motor

Haha! Rocket power would be interesting, although I might be up for a Darwinian award, if I did that.

It's a brass fuel tank :D

Although the mini moto front end looks OK, I've now got a front end off a Yamaha quad bike and it's an order of magnitude better, so I'll be using that, I'll get a photo later.

I've also contacted a saw mill to get some ash for the chassis and some other hardwood for a steering wheel. Small steps forward.

Back when Château Impney was doing a hill-climb event I remember that the cycle-cars did FTD beating aero engined cars!!

I've had the spring side plates laser cut by LGM Engineering in Epsom and they were delivered on Thursday. Really pleased how they turned out, may try and weld them up tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words.

I've not had much time this weekend but have mocked up the spring hangers. I won't be welding them up until I've got the leaf springs to make sure the size is right and this will be sometime off

if you don't mind me asking how much did the laser cutting set you back. there's a couple of things I was thinking of getting done

keeping an eye on this interesting build, looks like good bit of fun
