Gold body, black (or anthracite) roof.

 

Clear coat depends on the paint system you're using. We used a 2K which is tough as old boots so didn't use a clear coat. Something a little more delicate I'd want an additional layer (but it does make spot repairs difficult).

Yes! My girlfriend back in the mid 90s had a gold GT Clubman. Was very quick too, from memory.

Inca, I had a Clubby that colour, one of the best combos with the black interior. Can't really recall seeing it on any round nosers, but Citron & Limeflower worked well....

The two top colours are red and grey, only one vote for black - which was mine.

Black or white roof options are a surprise to me. I didn’t think they’d rate that high.

I recently did a 1986 Mayfair 'Cooper-tribute' in Ford Radiant red with a Black roof. It does look great.

It's funny, but I have always fancied doing one in Jaguar Ruby with a Sand Gold roof and wheels. Just never got around to it yet.

As from today (03/12/2022] the results from a similar mini forum in Australia are quite different from this one.

 

This forum listed first in red, Aus in blue

 

Red 22%: - 16%

Black 1.85%: - 14%

White 9.26%: - 16%

Cream 3.7%: - 3%

Greys 16.67%: - 3%

Dark greens 9.26%: - 5%

Light greens 9.26%: - 19%

Light blues 16.67%: - 16%

Dark blues 7.41%: - 8%

Browns 3.7%: - 0%

 

So combining the two polls, the most popular colours in order are:

Red 19.11%

Light blue 16.33%

Light green 14.33%

White 12.63%

Grey 9.83%

Black 7.92%

Dark blue 7.7%

Dark green 7.13%

Cream 3.35%

Browns 1.85%

 

Interesting that apart from red getting the most combined overall votes, light blue, dark blue and cream were near equal results between the two polls. And I would not have thought that light blue would have come in so strongly.

Thanks for your responses folks. At the end of the day though it’s whatever makes the individual happy, and a mini in any colour will always look great (although black looks the best  ).
