Hallo,

I was wondering if any of you could identify this distributor for me.

Markings on distributor housing: 41418 K 45D4

I know its a Lucas 45d, but I would like to know what car It originally came from.

I took it out of my 1978 Mini 850 but I am doubting it is original, and I would of course like to have the proper distributor installed so weights, springs etc, match my car/engine.

Thank you in advance

I found the distributor specs here:-  https://mgaguru.com/...butor_specs.pdf

Engine info won't be there.  There's quite a lot of A series engine info on the net, depending on exactly what you want.

Provided you have the original engine number stamped on the right hand side of the engine block, you may be able to use the A-series de-coder I link to below.

http://www.guess-wor...Tech/engine.htm

This will at least tell you what your engine spec should be, but of course it doesn't take into account modifications - bearing in mind most engines are at a bare minimum of 20+years old now.

Thanks for your info guys, unfortunately the dizzy info is incomplete for my model and the engine info doesn't seem to recognise that i have an A series 998 and not a A plus engine. I'll keep looking but would welcome any other suggestions.
