I bought a boot board fitting kit from Mini Spares then cut my own board and covered it in acoustic carpet. I also covered the inside of the rear seat back, inner wheel arch and quarter panel.


It looked really clean although I’d probably add a courtesy light if I did it again as all the black really sucks up the light especially in photos.

I think the piece of upholstered card that covers the back of the bootlid looks rather neat too. quite a clean and simple design and might hide any sound deadening material that was fitted inside the bootlid.

Here's mine, corrugated plastic covered in Ribbed rubber sheeting cut to the shape of the boot and arch etc., Cut where the width of the boot is so the plastic can 'hinge' and the rubber sheet velcro'd on so it can be pulled up, plastic hinged and then can be pulled out.

Had this in mine for the best part of the last 9 years. A five quid off cut of 12mm mdf and an offcut of kitchen pelmet bolted to the o/s wheel arch for support. 

Originally covered with spray glue and cheap felt (freebie as it was left over/offcut). But more recently recovered in grey ribbed carpet, as I'd over ordered to redo the rest of pieces in the car (dash rail, under seat speaker board and parcel shelf) and was left with a section that wasn't big enough for much else.

Always fancied a decent boot liner. Think I’m going to have a go at making my own. I’m sure I’ve seen a template on this forum somewhere.
