Hi all, I'm still working through issues prior to mot, i think I'm nearly there.

My hazard lights are not working, when flicking the hazard switch, you can hear the relay clicking fast but no lights (actually a really small flash from the bulbs).

the clicks are quite uniform and are about 2 per second.

with the switch, i have to toggle it around to get the clicking once switched on.

Trying to resolve the issue, I

have done the following:

The inline fuses are completely new as are the fuse holders.

The Relay is brand new

I also replace the switch.

When I join the two points of the relay socket with wire and turn on the switch, all lights glow.

Checking the indicators, both left and right work as expected.

The interior comes on as expected. (not with doors open but I haven't wired those in yet)

I'm a bit lost of where to go from here. perhaps the relay is wrong? it is a 21 x4w relay.

is there a ground I'm missing?

UPDATE: I have also taken off the hazard switch and popped a wire in between the points as a bypass. now, if I by pass one of each of the sides, they flash fine. If I bypass all 3 of the points (covering all lights), that's when it does as described above. So , it doesn't seem to be the switch.

You couldn't have put the switch in upside down could you?

The hazard unit sounds correct, though it shouldn't matter. They're designed to work if lights have been smashed, as that could be why your car is a hazard. Only an indicator flasher can flash faster because there's not enough resistance, so it must be faulty if it's the correct type and the indicator flasher hasn't been shorted somehow. Pulling the hazard flasher out to see if it stops flashing altogether would tell you.

Hi all  just come back to this problem after having sorted some other bits on the car. I finally got it working. My fix seemed to be the relay. After trying my 3rd new one, it finally got going. I used a 21w x4 type and cleaned all the earth points for good measure. Thanks all for the advice.
