Just thinking forward with our project.
What bucket seats are people using in their minis these days?
30 years ago I was using cobra sf8c seats which were a perfect fit for the size of the car but the seats these days seem to have "grown" with some minis looking very cramped with seats actually touching which I dont want.
I will be needing 3/4 slot seats which are compact.
I'd have the sf8c's again but not a chance of getting some I wouldnt think.

Mmm sorry check the regs for what you may plan on using the car for. As if you are going on the track it will need to be FIA approved and in date. Not so for hills and sprints unless internationals…..

then go get your butt in some seats. I ended up with a Sparco one. Fitted me well but not too easily in the car with how my cage was done.

Those in the various manufacturers ranges often described as historic retro or classic seats are generally smaller in dimensions than the modern racing seats, allowing them to fit into Minis and small kit cars.

Many of the Classic, Historic and Retro bucket seats from the major brands including Corbeau, Cobra, Mamba, Sparco are shown here:-

I would recommend choosing one with the option of headrests....whip lash neck injuries from quite minor accidents like rear end shunts can result in very painful and sometimes life changing injuries in seats that have no head restraints.

If you are looking for something that suits the Mini, a set of period Cobra Classic's with headrests, with the CS upgrade to allow for a 4 point harness, sounds absolutely perfect for you:

..perhaps it's not the seats that need more padding  :whistling:
