Ive just about finished upgrading my engine from an 850 to a 1000 with stage 1. The engine  and tuning parts have been cobbled together rather than supplied as a complete ready to go install. So I think it would be prudent to have the timing/fueling properly set up by someone who knows what they are doing.

Im presuming Id need a rolling road for this, or can the mobile tuning companies do a good enough job? Im not chasing every last horse power, I just want it to run well. Can anyone recommend a suitable outfit in the essex area?

Thanks

Ben

Speak to AC Dodd, he will come to you, or know someone who can tune as needed

About an hours drive from Chelmsford - ML Motorsport in Rochester. AC Dodd used to do tuning days there for a very reasonable sum, plus you get to watch him tune up a load of other Minis, and have a good chat with everyone else who turns up. Not sure where you can find out if/when he might be there again, maybe drop them a line?

The man's a wizard.

I would highly recommend Revivals garage in Thriplow near Cambridge. I've been going to them for years and they're absolute geniuses. They take care of all the historic race cars and grasstrack cars in the area, very familiar with Minis too.

Another recommendation for AC Dodd. He gets excellent results from a static tune, and will come to you. If you manage to get one or more other Minis together to get tuned at the same time, you can get better pricing. Either way, it's excellent value for money to get your car properly dialed in with the correct fuelling and ignition setup.

Thanks all. That gives me some options. Ive used Atspeed before for my Westfield and MX5 turbo - hadnt thought about them for the mini. However ACDodd certainly seems to be highly recommended.

Ill get the engine run in then see who's available.

As an aside have a look on YouTube for AC Dodd's mobile tuning, the reviews speak for themselves
