How do I post photos on this forum? All mine are too big, they need to be shrunk to allow posting.

You can put them on a remote site and post a link I use the free app >Resize and shrink them to 800 width it’s very easy to use.

If you’re using an iPhone, you can select the file size after picking which picture to upload

You can also email yourself photos and resize them, then save the copies and upload them

Bit of a pain

If you do a search via Google ref postings pictures on TMF you will find numerous results.

DO NOT use Photobucket. This hosting platform kicked in the teeth of numerous forums who’s members used that platform to host pictures is included.

Use Imgur etc.

That’s great thanks, I wasn’t aware I could do that.

In the past I have emailed them to myself, but was asked what size before they were sent. I now have an iPhone 13 and this just sends th a s they are.

this is one of the banes of my existence at work when engineers send me pictures of components they need, and the attachment is a 12mb file 120000 x 120000 of a simple label with a part number..  ffs

does no-one know how to adjust image quality, i have to save, reduce, forward on, then delete their original so it doesn't make my emails go slow

seems petty but you do that 20 times a day and it really starts to wear on you

Like many others I use Imgur, you can upload full-size image files there, then simply choose a smaller resized link to post in your thread/reply. "Huge thumbnail" or "large thumbnail" are both reasonable sizes for forum posts, I've found...

To clarify this picture, when you have uploaded your picture to Imgur, you then click on the picture you want as in above, change the size as per the ringed area then click on BBcode (message boards and forums) . Hit copy and then paste on here. It sounds long winded but its not.

I swapped to imgur after Flickr sold out and started charging $50 a year

I just find imgur is really difficult to get the links on a phone. The app is fine for uploading, but getting the bbcode is a pain using a phone

There's various apps for your phone that let you shrink photos so they can be attached.
