Hello,

When I brought my Mini, I checked the plugs which are NGK BPR6ES running on 95 unleaded petrol. I would be keen to know these are the correct spark plugs and what is the correct gap? I have attached a photo of a plug which seems a little hot to me or is this correct? Many thanks

Hi

It seems to be running a bit lean. Mine's a '96 SPI.

According to the Rover Manual the recommendation is NGK BPR6E gapped to 0.80 to 0.90 mm.

When I bought it had NGK BP5ES. Changed over to NGK BPR 6ES but could not run as misfiring continuously. Changed back to previous., running ok but Fuel Consumption is high.

Read somewhere that If HT Leads are resistive then plugs need to be non resistive and vice versa. Apparently,  only one set can be resistive, either plugs or HT leads but not both.

Perhaps someone here can confirm.

That is interesting information. Would love to hear from someone on if there is anything behind this.
